A peek into February at PropertyMe

February was a wet month for many parts of Australia, with the weather worsening over the past week. What was a simple nuisance for some, proved life-threatening for others. We send our thoughts and condolences to anyone affected by the recent flooding, together may we come out the other side stronger. If you haven’t already, take this time to check in on family and friends up North and let them know you’re thinking of them.

With that being said, some of the team headed to sunny Geelong while the rest in Sydney worked hard to release our newest feature, Key Management. We were fortunate that the weather (although trying) wasn’t enough to dampen our spirits. Keep reading to discover what we got up to in February!

PropertyMe attends PMLR in Victoria

Many aspects of pre-pandemic life are hard for us to remember, but when the word ‘conference’ is mentioned our ears automatically tune in. The stalls, the food and most importantly, the socialising are all things that we missed over the past couple of years. So when PMLR rolled around, we were overjoyed to attend.

The retreat was held over two days on the 17th and 18th of February, at the beautiful Waurn Ponds Estate just outside of Geelong. The retreat was the perfect escape for Property Managers, allowing for a bit of R&R whilst learning from some of the industry greats. We had so many lightbulb moments when listening to the speakers, and were overwhelmed by the gleaming smiles of our community as they stopped by the PropertyMe stall to chat with one of our lovely Territory Managers, Fiona Mott. We thank Hayley Mitchell and the team at Mitchell PT for a wonderful retreat, and we cannot wait to connect with many more of you at conferences in the future.

Our newest feature release: Key Management

It’s no secret that we’re constantly upgrading, to solve key industry challenges and look forward to the future of property management. With our newest feature launch, this couldn’t be more true. On the 11th of February, we launched a highly requested Standard Plan feature, Key Management, which allows you to easily track keys by identifying when keys have been checked in and out, and by whom. You can also view when keys are overdue, with the overdue day displayed on the property card.

If one release wasn’t enough, we had three

With Key Management being the highlight of February at PropertyMe, we were still excited to release two more updates available for all PropertyMe users. The first of these updates was released in tandem with Key Management, and was the addition of new fields for termination and break leases. In addition to the existing Move out date field, there are now increased date fields for Termination and Break lease, plus a Notes field that allows you to go into more details.

Secondly, on the 18th of February after valued community input, we left the arrears column on by default in the tenant history report, with the option to turn it off. In this release, we also created improved listing functionality for Realestate.com, as well as providing a new field in the chart of accounts and an updated tenant access icon.

Our first Lunch & Learn back in the studio

In mid-February, we hosted our first Lunch & Learn back in the office after what was a lengthy period of virtual meetings. We had Peter and Scott head into the office to perform a dress rehearsal before taking us all through the newest feature releases. We were inundated with questions and support from our community, and were overjoyed with the outcome. If you missed our last Lunch & Learn, click below to check it out!

Thank you for taking the time to read about February at PropertyMe, we look forward to sharing new updates with you again next month!
