A peek into September at PropertyMe

We know we always say it but September was a blip in time, with the only indication of October creeping up being the warming temperatures and increased use of the phrase ‘beach day’ around the office. Although the heat wave that many of us across the Eastern seaboard experienced gave us our first taste of summer, it also made us nostalgic for the scarves and hot coffees we were accustomed to in winter.

Whilst we’ve harped on about how quickly September flew by, we were thankful to have some exciting office events scattered throughout the month to find our bearings. From the privilege of hosting our PropertyMe partners in our office, to the plethora of in-office team events we hosted over the month, there wasn’t a dull moment. With that being said, let’s take a deep dive into what the month held for us.

Partner Conference

As we alluded to, we had the pleasure of hosting our official PropertyMe partners in late September as part of our Partner Conference. The event was the first of its kind and after hearing the positive feedback, we hope to do many more in the future. Backdropped by the breathtaking views from our Sydney office, the day consisted of talks and collaborations surrounding the future of the industry, as well as the opportunity to simply catch up with old and new friends alike. Thank you to everyone who made the day extra special, we can’t wait to catch up again!

R U OK Day

R U OK Day fell on the 14th of September this year and was the perfect opportunity for the team to get together and shine a spotlight on the importance of being transparent and knowledgeable about mental health. We bookended the important conversation with cupcakes, catering and decorations, after all, food brings everyone together. It was great to see the team get together to discuss a worthy cause and provide a shoulder for one another to lean on. So often in life, we keep our emotions and struggles bottled up, and R U OK Day taught us the importance of regularly checking in with one another, to keep our mental health in tip-top condition. If you haven’t already we implore you to ask a loved one how they’re doing or send a text of support to a friend or team member.

September feature release

In late September we released new feature updates to improve cyber-security and ensure that your PropertyMe details are as secure as possible. We released five feature updates that are available for all users, these are as follows:

  • Tenants are required to verify bank account details

As part of increased security measures, tenants using or setting up MePay will now be automatically prompted to verify their bank account details via PropertyMe Tenant mobile app or PropertyMe Client Access.

  • Filter paid bills/ invoices by paid date range

Last month we introduced the ability to filter paid bills using the paid date range. Based on the feedback from our customers, we have introduced the Paid date column to the Paid Bills tab on the Owner folio page.

  • Sensitive changes alert for portfolio supplier

When an Admin user modifies the Payment Method(s) for Portfolio Supplier (SUP00001), a warning banner will be prominently displayed for all users.

  • Additional activity logs

We’ve expanded the activity logs to provide you with enhanced visibility into critical actions.

  • TPS Integration

We’ve now added Tenancy.co.nz (TPS) as an integrator. TPS is the leading compliance solutions provider in New Zealand, and we’re excited to have them on board.

Citizenship Day

It’s always a pleasure getting to support our team members and their varying cultural backgrounds. With that being said, no matter where we come from, which holidays we celebrate or what languages we speak at home, we’re all uniquely Australian. In late September we came together to celebrate Citizenship Day, which was made even more special as some of our own were going for their Australian citizenship. The day was marked with plenty of nibbles and conversation.

Property Management & Me Podcast

In case you’ve been living under a rock, we have a podcast! Property Management & Me has been a labour of love for our marketing team, with the conversations we have with our guests being the highlights of our week. In September we released a new podcast episode with Ben Burton from ReHeroes. Ben spoke about all things AI and how you can use them in your practices to reduce repetitive conversations. NZ we’re coming for you

We’re so excited for the month of November, which will come around a lot quicker than we think, as we’ll be taking a skip across the ditch to New Zealand. While the breathtaking scenery and smiling faces in our neighbouring nation will make the trip feel like a holiday, we will be there on business to connect with our prospective and existing community members. You can catch us in Auckland and Wellington at TMC 2023, PMC 2023 and Property Management Partner’s PMP Carnivale. We hope to see you there!
