A peek into May at PropertyMe

The month of May proved to be productive here at PropertyMe, with the announcement of our latest feature — Chat — alongside our staff networking at conferences, speaking at events, releasing another episode of The Loop and celebrating birthdays!

Introducing: Chat

Our staff was excited to announce the launch of PropertyMe’s latest feature – Chat – an instant messaging tool designed to elevate and enhance communications between Property Managers, landlords and tenants.

Our Chief Customer Officer, Sarah Dawson, said gone are the days of searching through email threads or other messaging systems for replies or struggling to reach your contacts – Chat provides a streamlined, one source of truth to collaborate seamlessly.

“With Chat, our more than two million Property Managers, landlords and tenants can send instant messages directly through the PropertyMe app, ensuring seamless and efficient communication in real time,” Sarah said.

“Messages are delivered straight to the Property Manager’s inbox and are automatically saved against the recipient with time and date stamps, guaranteeing a reliable and accessible record of conversations.”

AREC

We also attended Australasia’s greatest real estate event AREC (Australian Real Estate Conference), over the weekend to connect with customers and share our tips on business best practice.

The two-day conference was a great opportunity to connect with existing and potential customers.

“PropertyMe was proud to attend AREC to connect with customers and industry peers — giving us an ample opportunity to share insights and demonstrate the innovation our products provide,” Sarah said.

AREC was hosted at the Gold Coast Conference & Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 May 2025.

It’s designed to inspire and educate business leaders across all sectors of the real estate industry — including sales, property management and leadership development — for CEOs and business owners.

Some of the notable attendees included US Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Olympians Emma McKeon and Ariane Titmus and entrepreneur and author Steven Bartlett.

Presenting at LEADER 2025

Amongst all the busyness of launching Chat and attending AREC, PropertyMe also attended LEADER 2025 — with our very own Sarah presenting at the event.

Taking place right after AREC on the stunning Gold Coast, LEADER 2025 is tailor-made to inspire, educate and level up business leaders across all facets of the industry.

“Still buzzing from today’s incredible Leader Conference on the Gold Coast,” Sarah said.

“A heartfelt thank you to Sherrie Storor for creating such a powerful and generous platform for real conversations, bold thinking, and leadership that truly serves our industry.

“It was an honour to step onto the stage and share insights that I hope challenged, inspired and resonated with many of you. I walked off that stage more grateful than ever for the amazing people I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside in this industry for many years—mentors, collaborators, and friends.

“To my long-time peers: thank you for continuing to raise the bar, back each other, and help shape an industry that’s constantly evolving but always deeply human at its core.

“Here’s to strong leaders, open hearts and the momentum we create together.”

Sarah also discussed: Grow Your Business, Nurture Your Asset.

“I addressed the key challenges facing the industry today—from rising operational costs and fragmented tech stacks to staff recruitment and retention,” Sarah added.

“I reframed these challenges as opportunities, urging leaders to rethink their approach by aligning technology with the customer journey, driving automation and focusing on loyalty and engagement.”

Sarah covered four anchors for sustainable growth:

  • Thoughtful Tech: prioritise process before platform.
  • Customer Service: every interaction builds or erodes trust.
  • People Leadership: invest in your team, and results will follow.
  • Stamina: consistency and resilience are the true edge in a competitive market.

“Technology is an enabler, but long-term success is built through trust, leadership, and endurance,” Sarah said.

Alongside Sarah Dawson, other PropertyMe staff Melanie Cetinich (Head of Sales) and Rachel Cosson (Victoria Business Development Manager) soaked up invaluable wisdom from celebrated business leaders who had truly honed their skills across businesses in and outside the real estate industry.

The Loop

We also announced our latest feature release — Chat — via our popular live podcast, The Loop!

Peter, Christina and Josh discussed the release of Chat and what it means for both our customers and the broader industry.

Chat offers many benefits for landlords and tenants, altering how they communicate with Property Managers.

These include:

  • Real-time messaging: instant messaging ensures that issues of importance, such as repairs and lease negotiations, are handled well.
  • Auto record-keeping: all messages are saved and timestamped, offering an easily accessible chat history for future reference.
  • More continuity of service: regardless of whether a Property Manager goes on leave or changes job, previous conversations are still accessible, ensuring smooth communication.
  • Lower reliance on email: by direct messaging within the PropertyMe app, individuals are able to escape cluttered inboxes and make their interactions more manageable.
  • Faster resolution of issues: landlords and tenants can resolve issues quickly, whether it’s a maintenance request or a lease inquiry.
  • Right to disconnect: Chat allows you to set office hours within the app, ensuring landlords, tenants and Property Managers won’t be disturbed outside of work hours.

Have a watch above!
